A couple of years ago I had the opportunity to travel down from Bolton to

After a three hour train journey with a bunch of welsh rugby supporters I
arrived at The Bristol Marriott hotel, which half a mile from the station. It
was £8 to get in to the Sound and Vision show, so armed with a map and brochure
I was off to explore the show.

The ground floor was occupied by accessory brands displaying the latest
advances in cables, and the latest trends, colours and styles in AV furniture
and cabinets. Spectral the German furniture manufacturer was there with a
selection of their premium stands, and Atacama with their sleek stylish and
performance enhancing racks.
In the meeting and conference rooms of the Marriott hotel was where big AV
brands were. KEF, Denon, Sony, JVC and Pioneer where some of the brands show
casing their products in these rooms.
In the Wharfedale and Mission room, Mission where demonstration their 79
Series and MV series, all though they looked the part I was slightly
disappointed with their quality of Sound, the new Diamond 10 speakers are
suppose to be far superior. In the bedrooms of the Bristol Marriott the rooms
had been transformed in to neat little demo rooms so customers could test, play
with and drool over the latest AV equipment.
At the Bristol show you are given the opportunity to buy directly from the
manufactures, at some times discounted prices. Walking round the show I did come
across some great bits of kit that I was interested in, there was a lot of
products there that I would have to re-mortgage my house for. . Making a mental
note of the codes and products I was interested in I spoke to a sales man at
Sound and Vision to see if they had better prices.
I was really impressed when Sound and Vision could better the prices of the
equipment I had seen at show and give me free delivery, making the train journey
home that much easier. The Bristol show was great, and it was even better
because I left the show confident that I had bought the right products from
Sound and vision in Bolton.
This year the Bristol show is expected to be even bigger, seeing the launch
of some really amazing products, I would recommend however, you take the Sound
and Vision number and see if they are cheaper.
